Lake Ray Roberts is an artificial 29,350-acre reservoir located 10 miles north of Denton, Texas, between Pilot Point, Texas and Sanger, Texas. It is approximately 23 miles long with 158 miles of shoreline. It is filled by a tributary of the Trinity River.

Lake Texoma, one of the largest reservoirs in the United States at 89,000 acres, is located at the confluence of the Red and Washita Rivers. The damsite is about 5 miles northwest of Denison, Texas, and 15 miles southwest of Durant, Oklahoma.

Lake Bridgeport, is a man-made, freshwater reservoir located in Wise and Jack Counties in North Texas. The lake was created by damming the West Fork of the Trinity River and sits upstream from Eagle Mountain Lake.

Grapevine Lake is a reservoir located in North Texas, approximately 20 miles northwest of Dallas and northeast of Fort Worth. The dam is a rolled earth-fill type, 28 feet thick, which spans 12,850 feet. The crest of the dam is located at 588 feet above sea level. At the dam, the original creek bed was at 451 feet, making the dam approximately 137 feet tall.

Lewisville Lake is a reservoir in North Texas on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in Denton County near Lewisville. The lake, with its 194,000 acre-foot capacity and forty-three miles of shoreline, was the principal municipal water source for the city of Dallas for 31 years. There are many coves, creeks, and great fishing spots off of the main lake.

Lake Murray is a 5,700-acre lake in south-central Oklahoma, near Ardmore. Lake Murray is a man-made reservoir, created by building an earthen dam across the Anadarche and Fourche Maline Creeks. The lake has a surface area of 5,728 acres, a shoreline of 67 miles, and a capacity of 153,250 acre-feet. It was intended primarily for recreational use.

Moss Lake is located 60 miles north of Dallas / Fort Worth Texas and about 12 miles northwest of Gainesville, Texas. The lake's surface area is 1,140 acres with a maximum depth of 68 feet. There is standing timber in the upper part of both creek arms and about 150 acres of submersed aquatic vegetation. There are submerged creek channels, humps, and a standing bridge along with scattered boat houses.

Lake Arrowhead is recognized as a premier white crappie lake. It is an artificial lake in the Red River basin fifteen miles south of Wichita Falls in southwestern Clay County. This lake provides a maximum 228,000 acre-feet of water with a 16,200-acre surface area. Lake Arrowhead has an elevation of 926 feet above mean sea level and a drainage area above the dam of 832 square miles.
